Donald Trump was always against “illegal immigration”.
As long as you head to a US embassy/consulate and get a visa, and live in the USA as per the visa rules, he respects those kind of people. And secondly, he wants to change the H1-B visa rules from lottery-based system into merit-based system. That doesn’t necessarily mean he is against immigration.
Whether he sticks to his words about green cards is a story of another day.
