Did you know that Emirates business class flights are NOT all the same, even on the same route? And if you book the wrong type of flight, you’ll be paying the same high fare, but you’ll get a far inferior experience. So if you want to avoid this mistake, and learn lots of other tips on how to make the most of your Emirates business class experience, check out this video. We flew from JFK to Dubai on the A380, and from Dubai to Nairobi on the 777. And did the same thing on the way back.

The number of commenters who have taken issue with my remarks about the chauffeur making no attempt to help with our bags, must have never taken a taxi, an Uber, a SuperShuttle, a free parking lot shuttle, a free hotel shuttle, or literally any vehicle other than their own car to the airport before. Because the drivers from all these services routinely help you get your bags on and off the vehicle.

Is it a mandatory part of their job? Probably depends on the company. Is it standard courtesy and etiquette? Yes.

But some of you are acting like I just invented some brand-new standard for airport drivers. 😅

When you consider the fact that only revenue passengers (i.e. those who bought their plane tickets with cash, not points or miles) are eligible for the chauffeur drive, it's odd that the standards would be so low for the passengers who are paying the most.

Now granted, we are New Yorkers so we know that the service in NYC often sucks, even at the luxury/high end of things. So I'm sure the service you get from a Black Lane driver in other parts of the country and world is probably better. But NYC is one of Emirates' biggest markets, so I'd think it would be a priority to get this part of the experience right.

Mam, incase you are not aware, most Transportation Network Drivers are NOT required to lift baggages because of liability issues. If you come across a driver who does not lift the luggage as a courtesy, try to understand, some of them may look healthy but may have back issues. Thumb rule for anyone who uses Transportation Network regularly, if you could pack the luggage, you could lift it and put it in the trunk. No offense, but you sounded like it's part of riding in a Transportation Network car. It's NOT.

I have flown Emirates a few times in Business class, both 777 and A380. So I thought why bother watching your video? But I love how you film and also how you speak so clearly and easily to convey your message. I have no idea what your career or background is but you could definitely work in TV or radio in communications or voice-overs!

I completely agree that the A380 is WORLDS better than the 777, having flown on the A380, 777-300 and the 777-200. The 1-21 configuration is becoming a focus on business class of many airlines as many airlines are moving away from the idea of first class and focusing on business class instead. It seems Emirates is still focusing on first class, especially considering the amazing first class they released on the 777-300. The 777-200 is not bad if you get an aisle seat, but again yes the 380 is better. Its unfortunate that you have to be in a city that has the 380 though. Living in Washington DC and also being near JFK also, I have multiple options to fly the 380, but cities like Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami etc. are all stuck with the 777 on long haul flights. I hope in the next 5 years Emirates will catch up with Qatar and Ethiad when it comes to business class. Still an amazing service and experience though.

Yes, the 2-3-2 configuration is the reason we changed to Qatar airlines having a 1-2-1 seating.

I’ve flown EK A380 business class twice - once Zurich via Dubai to Melbourne in 2014 (solo) and Dubai to Melbourne in 2019 with hubby. SUCH a great experience but I am SO sad we didn’t ask the crew for photos behind the bar!! Definitely will next time!! Thanks for the tip 😍

When it comes to international trips I prefer Middle Eastern airline companies such as Emirates, Qatar or Even Turkish Airlines you get better service.

Thanks for the review. Interesting comparing Delta's Flight Attendants (FAs) to Emirates. As you may or may not know, once the Delta FAs reach seniority, the chances of them losing their job is close to zero. In comparison to Emirates' FAs, they are on an employment contract which is directly tied to their visa. If there are any issues with their employer, they are released and would need to leave UAE as soon as possible since their visa is no longer valid. That is some motivation.

My goodness, I enjoyed the format you used to tell this story. It was very different from the vlog-styled reviews. It was poised, structured and sincere.

Beautiful. Subscribed immediately

Good stuff, and definitely worth paying attention to the plane layout. One thing to consider about "lemonade" is that it means different things in different countries. In Australia, it is a carbonated soda very much like Sprite or 7Up.

I loved this review not just because of your honesty but also because I love that you travel with your kids and you give them the best. I watched this because I'm thinking of buying business class seats on Emirates from JFK to Athens with my teens this summer. Only thing is they only have the 777 which is a bummer but the 380 coming back from Athens with a stopover in Dubai. I guess you didn't totally lose because you were able to experience both at one time and review it. Glad I watched. Great review!

I have listened to so many travel reviews over the years but have to say this is my fav so far. Everything was clear and said with a great sense of humour....and yeah..it IS GOOD to finally get to take off that bra!! :-) haha - in all the years of travelling and listening to reviews you are the only flight reviewers that I have subscribed to!

Nice trip! I've done a lot of flying on Emirates and, by far, the A380 is the plane to book. With Covid, lots of Triple Sevens were substituted and I rarely have complaints about that aircraft -- but if flying Emirates business, it's a big downgrade in experiences. I've only had to "tough-out" two business class segments that way: one aboard a Triple seven from Dubai to Colombo (Sri Lanka) and the other from Cochin (India) back to DXB on an old A330 before they were retired. I had a window seat to Colombo (in the dead middle of the night with a 2:30 am departure), so bothering another guy to get up was inconvenient for us both. Emirates consistently flies A380s to New York now, but it did revert to 777s during the Covid crunch. (My first round-trip to Dubai aboard Emirates was a Triple-Seven BOTH ways, so be glad.) Even their Milan "Fifth Freedom" stop flight is back aboard the Big Boy, so everybody's happy. If you get a newer 380 model, the banquette seating in the lounge is more spacious and less weird than the crescent-shaped benches, but I quibble. EK is a remarkable product. The business lounge in the A380 terminal in Dubai is E-NORMOUS and kind-of disorienting, but you're usually bombed out with jet lag and it does fine. The spas are indeed revitalizing if one has a layover as long as yours. Enjoy treating your girls to premium seating, and what a pleasure it must be to show them around the world in such style! Enjoy your 22 in '22!

I'm flying in the 777 to Greece in June & after paying top dollar I'm going to love every minute of it! No matter if it's the 380 or 777! :)

Love flying Emirates but I was duped by a low cost upgrade to Business Class from Melbourne to Dubai. When I got on, I was less than impressed by the 777 Business Class...the only thing luxurious was the way the seat reclined. Also, not all the meals were served.
