This is chapter 5 of NCERT Geography (Our Environment) Class 7 Textbook titled WATER where I have discussed the water cycle in the starting through a diagrammatic representation. Then through some statistics we have understood the proportion of fresh water with respect to all the water that is present on our planet earth. The circulation of water in oceans have been understood which happens through three means waves, tides and currents. Some basic information about ocean currents have been discussed with the tides connecting to spring tide and neap tide. Finally we completely analysed how exactly the tsunami of 2004 came and devastated the complete eastern shoreline of Indian peninsula. The Indira point was completely submerged.
