You always do interesting things. I am still working my way up to being able to something like nickel coating. However, I am now seasoned at deburring and polishing, which has really helped out quite a bit. Have a great week.

Hey Brad, have you ever thought how to blackout a club head? Not really my taste visually but I've seen so many black versions of club heads and asked myself how they do it. Oil quench? Blueing solution? Would be great to see :)

I think you'd like the Tungsten for those clubs. It's a really nice cast iron color. It's super super important to spray one thin covering coat. More is definitely not better. That may account for some of the gloss level you werent satisfied with.

Hey Brad, I recently acquired a set of MacGregor MTourney VFQ MT2 irons with the FC4000 coating. I am refurbishing them a little so i can show them off and use them occasionally. The faces look similar to the starting point of the club here. I would love to replicate your process but unfortunately it's not quite as easy with my limited experience, the extra cost for tool & supplies, and having to take off all the club heads and then reassemble. In your opinion, would you suggest just leaving the faces as they are or potentially removing the coating all together. I know the coating gives it the cool and unique look but would a naked face have any downsides? Thanks in advance

Thank you for another great video. I have a set of these clubs that needs re-done, and you’ve given me the best idea on how to proceed.

Awesome, Frank! Question: After the Cerakote, the surface looks bumpy, almost like Line-X in a truck bed. Is it, or does it just appear that way in the video. Or, is it supposed to be that way with the black armor?

Wow, yet another restoration option!
Quick question: how can you readily tell what metal finish a given club has? The Mizunos MP32s you worked on are forged from carbon steel, but evidently have a nickel finish. The Wilson Reflex iron you restored a while ago was stainless steel, and other older clubs were chromed. I have a set of Srixon Z945 blades I’d like to shine up, and assumed since they’re forged from 1020 carbon steel they’re that through and through. Hate to get a little aggressive with sanding and find I’ve sanded through some top layer that will need replacing through electro coating, etc....

now if you give that a light dusting with the sandblaster then it could give the desired matt finish

So u can use foil material in an oven? Thank God thats not a microwave oven as that would set on fire right.
Also is nickel plating the same as Chrome plating?

Sorry, I always like your work but this is not good. Big Fail that looks bad and will not withstand hitting balls with it.
