Knowledge is power, and these disciplines, whatever their roots, undoubtedly have the power to elevate humanity's scientific understanding, save us from the climate crisis, produce clean energy, and let us harness the power of artificial intelligence for an ethical future. Still, I prefer to look ahead to the future rather than thousands of articles about the past; for example there was a long "AI winter" from the seventies to the nineties in which neural networks simply did not live up to our expectations. But now with modern advances we are in the summer, and it is not so important to look at the past winter months as compared with what the future can hold. The way forward is to remain forward-looking.
