'Two+ Minutes with an ARTeater' Meet Emily Babette Gross

Emily Babette Gross is a Canadian-born artist who lives and works in Los Angeles, California. She studied painting and drawing at California State University, Long Beach and graduated with her BFA in 2015. She is currently a third-year MFA candidate of Studio Art at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, University of California, Irvine. For the last eight years, Emily has been working and exhibiting in the greater Los Angeles area. Her work has been exhibited at The Carolyn Campagna Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Torrance Art Museum, Studio Bastille in Berlin and the University Galleries at UCI. Her multi-disciplinary work includes painting, drawing, sculpture, embroidery, assemblage, video and installation. Thematically her work explores identity and belonging, queer identity, subcultures, the performative aspects of gender, internet personas, and the concept of ‘home’.
