I loved filming this video and, whenever I film a new book-related video, I wonder why I don't do them more often. Hopefully I'll upload more like this over the summer :)

I loved that you suggested books that aren’t what everyone is reading! Loved your video! Could we get and updated tea collection soon? I’d sure love to see all the yummy teas you have lol

Great recommendations there, thank you. Fierce Bad Rabbits sounds REALLY interesting. I have a 3 year old son who loves books, mainly picture books. He is a little advanced for his age but I find it really fascinating the way he uses his imagination with them. In the morning before he comes into us, he gets up and gets a few books out of his book case and ‘loosely’ reads the story to his teddies, sometimes memorised from me, and sometimes I know he’s using the pictures to tell a completely different story and sometimes really trying to read the words. The main takeaway from this is that he’s outstanding at recognising words and enjoying books and reading, pictures or not! I’m definitely going to grab a copy. Some of my favourite books at 44, are still my childhood books. I love children’s literature and I’d love to have done a module in it like yourself. (apart from the tiger who came to tea… I detest it!). I ordered we were liars the other day for my summer holiday read. I think I might have to order A Room of One’s Own too. Thanks so much Ruby. Always appreciate your recommendations. x

PLEASE make more book videos. Anything you want, just talk about books. It’s my favorite thing in the world. Thank you for this video✨

The quote from the Lemony Snicket book just made me think of the casual/humor/accessible writing of Roald Dahl. As for Childrens' Books--I always say, well, WHO wrote them? Adults! If an adult author wants to write for children, they need to read children's books. I took a class on childhood literacy that was great--had us analyzing books in terms of what age group they're for, what they offer. We just cleaned and moved our collection of children's books from when I was little and I remembered how impressionable they were--remember every favorite illustration. They are beautiful pieces of work that should be for everyone. !

I really liked that you kept the list short and the recommendations in between also helped break it up and not make it feel like a supermarket list, lol. Great job!

Oh I cannot wait to reread A Series Of Unfortunate Events as an adult!
I keep meaning to go get the books from my parents loft but I think I'm just going to get them all on Kindle for ease and space saving!

Your smile shows how much you enjoy reading these books and I felt like I would regret if I don’t read them as well Lol.
(Just finished Poison for Breakfast and it was an unusual reading experience. Really like the details, the thoughts, and the sense of humor in it. Can’t wait to read another one!)

Ruby, I insist you give on a try to Indian authors, they're magnificent, some of them. Ruskin Bond's initial books- Rain on the Roof and Vagrants of the Valley can help you get started. Cheers!

Ruby, your sentence "I want to be an author myself" brought a smile to my face. I merely wanted you to know that.

To all women in the United Kingdom and elsewhere: You have a lot to tell and a lot to write down. Nobody can hinder you to become an author, like Ruby.

Hey Ruby, I wanted to thank you to post another video. You're such an inspiration for me and you motivate me to do things that I always wanted to do when I didn't have enough courage to actually bring myself to do them. I hope you're having a great day. Also, the binding is a beautiful book, I loved it when I read it, I hope you enjoy it.
