Was liking the Yoshino until hearing the unit can only handle 600 watts of solar input. Also, the rather low lifetime charge cycles leaves a lot to be desired, especially compared to the competition.

Happy to see more competition - hopefully causes prices to fall.

This video deserves a follow-up and at least a title change now that Yoshino has been exposed for falsely claiming "SOLID STATE"

I stopped at "600w of solar input." That's pathetic. Even the AC300 has 2400 watts solar input, which is still low in my opinion, unless you live in Arizona or something and have constant sun. It's like having a Ferrari with a 1 gallon sized gas tank.

Got an AC200Max + 2 x B230 expansion batteries (so about 6144Wh of storage) and about 2.2KW of solar myself. I think it would be nice if a lot of these vendors allowed for the solar input to be significantly higher than the output wattage. (e.g. If you're offering a 4KW output, the solar input should be double that) Based on the premise of having 8-10 hours of sunlight but a 4000w output (in this case), so with this unit you'd never be able to even keep up with the AC output and charge the unit. (not even considering efficiency losses in the inverter)

Not picking on this brand, just an observation of most power stations out there at the moment and something I'd like to see.

There are some advantages to the Yoshino, but I'd recommend you update this video based on all the recent testing and reviews. Not solid state... solar input is inadequate.... but size and weight are advantages.

Great video, I just ordered one with solar panels. I’m very excited to use it with our motorhome in 2024

Very impressed with the Yoshino power station. I'll be interested in your long term testing as you've done with the EcoFlow. Another informative and interesting review! Thanks!

Thank you for another in depth and detailed review. I'm still learning! 👍🇺🇸

Only thing I like about it is it's power output and smaller draw overnight but that's about it.

Hope their next generation ups the solar wattage, having a home setup of batteries with their battery share system would be nice but 600 watts is too low

Great tests here, Johnny! Enjoyed the video and thanks for keeping up with the latest tech in battery reviews!

This pack looks pretty cool but
I had a horrible experience with ecco flow customer service, and two separate packs that died on me in less than a month so
I'm building my own battery pack. Because if something breaks I can just replace a part inside and not have to worry about all the headaches involved with dealing with the manufacturers of these packs, not to mention I can get a way better system setup for the price of one of these high priced packs

It seems that the Li-NMC batteries are better in terms of charge density and cold-weather charging, but LiFePO4 batteries are still better in terms of stability (low fire risk) and number of charge cycles.

I'm mostly curious to see how the battery tech works over time. But thanks for an early look-see.

Good review, the only thing i would change and its the same as you Johnny is the solar input voltage. Its way too low for a powerful unit like this IMO.

I agree this these units would be amazing for sailboats if the solar input was higher!

2:39 Light might have been better as a physical button since if you need light, you probably don't have light to find a flat light indicator.

I love everything about this unit…BUT, the solar input. Complete show stopper on buying it.

For the price of Yoshino I can buy any other brand and two extra extension batteries that will last way more than Yoshino can. Not underestimating Yoshino but the price is an instant deal killer.
