I think that many people from the progressive community forget about this. I purchase what I can from ethical brands, but I can't afford some of that stuff. I can't justify $40 on a face cream when I am trying to get on disability. I'm not saying that I don't want pay workers more or be more environmentally friendly, but I also need to moisturize my face and I can't afford an expensive one. The original point was to make companies accountable for the horrible practices, but at this point we are yelling at consumers. I understand that content creators are probably trying to yell at those who have the money to make better choices, but they don't make content that helps broke people find the best *affordable* options either.

As someone who does shop at dollar trees, I can tell you that you’ll find some real gems in self care!

I personally use Udderly smooth, yardley soap, sport sunscreen spf 50, and the Vo5 strawberry&cream shampoo and conditioner. These tend to be the most reliable for the least amount of irritation.

Dollar Tree has a retinol serum and a Vitamin c\hyaluronic serum from the brand Creme de Skin Nutritions. I always hope that influencers talk about them but they never do. I wish I knew it they were any good. Great video!

I immediately recognized that Carmex package! Carmex is one of the only lipcare products that I feel lasts a long time on my lips. I put it on before bed and my lips still feel moisturized and protected when I wake up. I used to suffer a lot with flaky/dry lips and when I started using Carmex that totally disappeared. At first I didn't know why and then I found that Carmex has Salicylic acid in it. I personally love the menthol feel, but I can see how it would irritate some people's skin.

As someone with dry/sensitive skin they have an argan oil foot mask that works great and an unscented chapstick that is in every coat pocket for the wintertime!

I’m a travel nurse and im currently in US Virgin Islands, and everything is HELLA expensive here. Like I thought California was expensive... but I freaked out when I saw a box of cereal was $8-10 in the Virgin Islands 🇻🇮 & there is no dollar tree here either. I can relate a lot to his experience

For those sample packages, I recommend rolling the top and clipping it with a small binder clip to save the rest for later

Dollar Tree used to have this lavender toner, the brand was April. It was the BEST toner I ever used. So incredibly effective and quick and it felt and smelled so good!

Udderly smooth hand cream is the GOAT
I wash my hands a lot for work and work with a lot of cleaners and sanitizers living in pnw, so my hands get dry and crusty very easily. That hand cream is one of the only ones that can keep them from getting too bad. It's not too oily or fragranced and it doesn't feel like it's just sitting on top of my skin like a lot of other lotions. I make trips to the dollar tree specifically for it since it's more expensive at any other store.

I never understood how people used carmex because I remember when i would use it overtime it would make my lips rough and irritated. Now I know it was probably the menthol! Lol aquaphor is my go to now but more power to the people whose lip skin is resilient to menthol 😆

Welcome to Colorado! It’s super dry here so moisturize like crazy, even if your skin is oily. And stay HYDRATED because it’s so easy to get dehydrated at high altitude. Love ya 🧡
