OMG, way back when I went to high school back in the 80's, the boys in my high school couldn't run that fast, esp indoors. I think when I graduated the boy's record for two-mile outdoors was something like 9:50 and a 9:40 would have won the district and qualified him for the state championship. These girls the last few years have just been next-level incredible :)

Imagine running the third fastest 2 mile ever and getting second place... This has truly been a year of astonishingly fast female high school athletes. Appreciate it while you can. No one is beating Mary Cain's record any time soon but these girls beat everybody else.

They went out a tad too fast. They could definitely go even faster with even pacing! And they had to pass all those people they lapped which is at least a second or two.
