At a U.S. Senate hearing on Wednesday (Jan 31), Senator Tom Cotton repeatedly asked TikTok's Singaporean chief Shou Zi Chew about his ties with China and if he had ever belonged to the Chinese Communist Party.

Chew disclosed more than 170 million Americans used TikTok monthly, 20 million more than the company said last year.
