Mother bear and cub separated in Spain after male attack and dramatic fall | AFP

Authorities in the Spanish region of Castilla y León are trying to find a brown bear and her cub who were separated after a male bear brutally attacked the cub, which the mother managed to save. An amateur videographer managed to capture the fight on camera.

Okay that male bear was massive compared to the mama. Fortunate to know she survived and did everything to defend her offspring.

Just saw it on the news tonight. An amazing thing to capture on video. They said the male died and the Rangers dropped off some food to the mother so she could feed her cub. The mother was okay if not a little sore. I am surprised their are Bears in Spain, never knew that.

1) the reason why the male bear also fell is because the female bear bit his leg when the female bear fell
2) the cause of the male bear's death is that he fell flat which caused his internal organs to rupture or the chest bone to be crushed
3) while the female bear fell on her back which has less impact than the male bear because it is covered in fat and muscle

Male bear died in the fall, and the mother and her two offspring died a few weeks later in a cave.

The female bear and her two cubs have been found dead in the cave they went to shortly after this video. It is believed one of the cubs was already in the cave deceased from a fall before this video ever took place.

Sadly the mother and cubs were found dead in the crevices, it was in the news recently. The fall was to bad for her to survive.

That felt like something straight out of a movie. The mom is about die defending her cubs selflessly when they both fall, the male bear seemingly firing and the mother living to go back to her cubs.

That mama bear sure was tiny in comparison, the outcome might've been better than if it was in a normal flat place...although i see some comments saying the mama and cubs died after.

Update, female bear died in a cave nearby with her cubs.

For anyone, they also died.

They found their bodies days later in a deep cave. She probably died from internal wounds.
