I got the Quest 3s last monday. My very first time I ever bought a VR headset. I tried it for 4 days and I was blown away by the experience playing First Encounters, Drop Dead Cabin home invasion and Space Pirate Trainer DX. But ... the lenses on the 3s was hard on my eyes because I had to focus to have a clear image. It was also giving me a headach eventualy and I thought I just had to adjust to seeing though those fresnel lenses. After watching many reviewers saying the Quest 3 had better lenses I bought the Quest 3 yesterday to try it for myself to see if it would improve the already positive experience I had with the 3s. And man it is definitly a difference and my eyes have a easier time to see through the headset and the image quality is crisper and clear and no headach. My decision was made and I refunded my 3s. Yes the 3s has exactly the same performance as the Quest 3 as far as I have seen with the games I played on both headsets and the battery life of the 3s last a bit longer than the 3.
If you dont mind the fresnel lenses on the 3s then I would say get it. For me I will stick with the pancake lenses of the Quest 3.

I love my quest 3 but this is a perfect entry level to new VR users for sure! I am sure this one actually has the more updated dragon chip and hopefully better mic placement as quest 3 was awful

Sorry but what hype? We have all the fake news by the reviewers all trying to make money off Meta and the kissing up lol. No when you hear about the Quest 3s "I don't know why but the lenses seem allot better on the Quest 3s". haha its the same lenes. Then you have people saying "which one should you buy" Quest 3s has the same lenses as the quest 2 vs Quest 3 with pancake lenses.. and that is night and day. Then how odd they never tell the people that sub to them you can by a refurbished Quest 3 128gb for $379 or Quest 2 128gb $299. Now that refurbished? Meta toss in a 1 YEAR warranty.
