He was pretty much heartthrob status so I don’t think anyone thought he wasn’t attractive. It’s that he has a more quietly intellectual vibe and did an awesome job as this nerdy approachable character. I think it is the modern interpretation of nerdy guys meaning unattractive and undesirable is something that can undergo a perception shift and that will benefit us all.

The false narrative that nerds/geeks are ugly🙄🫣🫠 Just because someone isn’t a sheep who actually has hobbies, who does well and is good at school, doesn’t mean they are and have to be «ugly»! And no Brody was never regarded ugly or average looking. He was and still is HOT!

I don’t think he was considered unattractive. I had an instant crush on him when the OC first came on. It was more the characters personality that was nerdy.

Nerd yes - ugly no. And remember in the OC, he was the heir to a fortune. AND he got Summer. He was just into video games and awkward but he broke out of that by Season 3 and 4.
