Sean, you have found the guy. Mr. Freitas is exactly the kind of person we need in Congress and more importantly in the halls of academia. You often wonder how we got into such a mess. It is because our Universities have been overtaken by people who have a world view that isn't grounded in absolute truth. There are two opportunities to reclaim America. One is Congress the other is academia. We need Crusaders to go breach the walls of both. Congress is easier but every 4 to 8 years the liberals get back in charge and simply overthrow everything victory we gained. The crucial citadel is Fallujah as a metaphor for a our Universities. The only way we can redeem our culture is by storming those ivory castles and retaking them with Absolute Truth; Aristotle, John Stuart Mill, Kant, folks you don't know about (yet). Here is the ultimate challenge for you Sean. Embark on a lifelong journey. Get a degree and document what you are learning about postmodernism, deconstruction, and the intellectual morass that led us down to where we are. I had no degree at age 30 and it was painful to start so late because frankly, I was truly an anti-intellectual dumbass. Today I'm an author with a Master's degree. I remember my editor's note about a sentence I wrote condemning intellectualism. She said, "But aren't you an intellectual too?" From that day on I knew it was possible for simple Christian southerners to go on to become Intellectuals too. That was a shock to me! Me an intellectual? Aren't they the bad guys? That is where we took the brunt like the battle of the bulge. Liberals aren't even intellectuals anymore. Its easy to take the high ground from them. If Americans watched you undergo that same intellectual and spiritual transformation over the many years it would take, we would be inspired and hope again. You are a product of the times. Your son doesn't have to be. Pursue truth at the highest academic level possible or run for Congress. And write a book. Seems impossible I know. But I did. And I was no different than you except I was less interested in reading. Today, I've read and studied almost every book that Jordan Peterson has and I understand every nuance in his thoughts. No one is born with that knowledge. Takes Time. America will cease to exist otherwise. Christian Conservatives have degrees from Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge too. From a Christian perspective this is all explained in Galations chapter 1.

Before Christ you were not a good man. Now you are by His conferred goodness. Show the world that the spiritual insight you've gained isn't yet over. And let them learn alongside you (over time) all the academic and intellectual reasons why we fell into this abyss. It was a journey to get into this abyss. And only a Seal/Green Beret/SF type dedication will lead us out of it. How will you know when you're there? When you can explain the good and bad ideas nested within postmodernism and Derrida's deconstruction to one generation behind you; your son. God wills it.
