You might be doing it wrong! In this video, I go over how to properly anchor with both a handheld and a wrist strap release and what to watch for to ensure that you're shooting accurately with both releases

Great timing! Was struggling with this earlier this week. I appreciate all the education you provide on your channel.

After watching your videos and actually putting it all in to practice I’m very disappointed in my local bow shop thanks for teaching me how to be my own bow smith

Thank you sir! Perfect timing I’ve just changed to a nock on silverback and was having a bit of trouble understanding my new anchor position from my normal wrist strap finger release, now it is great! Thanks heaps!

Well, I was doing it wrong...LOL...I really appreciate this "how to" video! I was over adjusting the wrong thing. I shoot a hand held and a wrist strap for two different scenarios. I was struggling with the thumb release. Literally just watched this video, walked out into the backyard, applied what I learned here and wow. Almost shooting the same group, with both releases.

This is mind blowing! I bought a "nock 2 it" and have not had time to get familiar with it. I just met you at TAC Oklahoma. I came home and wondered how my "nock 2 it" felt vs my wise guy. If I anchor just like you show, they are damn near perfect on the peep. Nose on the string too. Your information is amazing! I love the Nock On Yeti Cup!

Probably the best video for progressing and improving my anchors.

Wow Dud! You really make it look too easy!
That’s a great explanation.

First let me say that I have learned everything by myself, no teacher. A few months back I changed from a trigger release to a thumb button and got lucky and found the method you're talking about. It works great for me. The only difference for me is on the trigger release my base knuckle is in my ear (difference in face shape?). At least I know I'm getting something sort of right.

Thank you. I am having release issues. Shortened my release just a little, and my groups tightened up. I think it helpede anchor better.

That's awesome that's how I've always anchored my wrist strap. I lock the knuckle in right behind the jaw between the jaw and earlobe

This is literally something I'm going through with my silverback right now. Thank you

I needed this video on Thursday when I wanted to try my son’s Silverback hand held. I was trying to use my wrist release anchor point and, of course, it didn’t work. Thanks!

You need to create a topic like-conversations near the hedge. It's like two neighbors meeting at the fence between their plots and talking about this and that.) I didn't understand whether to press this bone to the base of the ear or just keep it there at this level.

Awesome video! I am pretty green at bow shooting and am curious why you "pull through the shot"

Hey John big fan and love the content. Normally I am a wrist strap shooter but I'm actually thinking about switching it up to the wise choice 4 finger now with how green I am with archery in general I'm not convinced my anchor point with the strap was accurate but going to a 4 finger how much would that cery the anchor compared to the handheld you are using now?

A couple years ago I went to the bow shop to feel the draw on a new bow and I left my releases at home. They gave me the shop wrist rocket, if they didn't know me it would have been super embarrassing watching me try to use that thing

Great lesson! I would like to know why impact with my backstrap changes left and right when I swap with other releases I like to practice with. Maybe its the thickness change?

I am able to switch between my Wise Choice and my Carter Quickie Plus without any problems. I have tested this on indoor dots for score and out to 50 yards on 3-d targets. I don’t have to do anything to the bow. Apparently, I’ve shot these each so many times I unconsciously just put each release in the proper place on my face. I think maybe the secret is both are set up where I pull thru the shot completely. There’s no moving my thumb or index finger. ????
