President Biden handled this masterfully

In other words, Putin is like the proverbial cat who ran straight into the wall, and then walked away, as if to say; "I meant to do that! I meant to do that! That is exactly the way I wanted that to look..." aka, the Malignant Narcissist's Excuse.

real question:
why not just "negotiate" with putin: "you can have NO TERRITORY but tell your people (who don't know reality) that you 'won'"
(seriously, why NOT? most russian people will say YAY PUTIN! and the ones that know better will say yay!)

There wasnt any change of the strategy. Russians want east and south of Ukraine, regions where Russians live in the majority, they dont care about parts of Ukraine where people are not interested to be occupied, it would just made them problems. "Strategy shift" is western narrative in order to proclaim Russian operation as failure.

To better understand the situation, there are no "Ukranian people" thats false. There are Russians - that live on east and south and Galicians - that live north and west, and some minorities. Ukraine is a false country created by Lenin.

Even the nam eof that country tells its a fake country. It meanins "end of the land". Countries are usually named by nation, not by the description of the land.

Ambasador why you mislead audience. I was read watch english media also EU.
From day one Putin demand from Ukraine recognition of Crimea as part of Russia and Lughansk and Donetsk as independent.
Not now as you claim, from day one that was what they negotiate.
Nothing about Kyev, that is media spin and you know it, still spread it.
