A big update for Qatar Airways crew, as the rules and regulations have recently changed. Less restrictions are expected and obviously a better lifestyle for the crew community. This will lead to a better workforce retention and a more positive and less stressed crew life.

Hey Alex, greetings from a fellow colleague from Qr. Yes, what you're saying it's true, these changes had happened in less than two months after all these years of repression and control. Tattoos are allowed (not visible in uniform) and dress code for staff traveling has been relaxed as well. There are lots of things to improve still but for now this is such a relief for us.🎉🎉🎉😊

I think that Josh Cahill's recent confrontation with Qatar Airways, in which crew members complained about working conditions, has something to do with this.

I believe that Al Baker has been unfairly criticised. So what if he was a control freak? He only wanted the best standards for his company, and expected that QR staff follow the rules. He once sent a male flight attendant home because he had a 'five o'clock shadow'. Fair enough. I would have done the same if i were the QR CEO or senior management. As for Mr Cahill, I hope that QR continues to ban him, hopefully, for life.

Most Middle East nations are the same. They treat workers as servants. As a nurse in Qatar, my passport was taken away from me and horrible work conditions, long hours no overtime pay. I moved to Dubai and same experience. I felt like I will never see my family again. I stayed due to financial reasons. But back in home country now. But taking away passport and not giving basic human rights is not acceptable in today world. Stay away from Middle East, they are not worth it.

It is definitely not of your employer's business, at all, what you do before and after your work!
As long as you perform your duties the correct and proper way your employer wants you to do, your private off-duty life is your own responsibility!
A 'curfew' is illegal in most civilized countries!
As a former flight attendant with the major European carrier, I am shocked about the working conditions at Qatar Airways!
Slavery is over!

but the marriage and pregnancy thing is not new though💀 I got married in 2017 after probation without asking anyone for permission LMAO I just walked into the PM office and told them my marital status changed and I didn’t get fired😹 also pregnant crew always transferred to welfare office if there were positions available lol otherwise they would just stop flying for the meantime but NEVER fired as long as the pregnancy wasn’t out of wedlock💀

Does the curfew rule apply to customer service ground officers as well?

Good changes though, but still prefer Etihad or Emirates

Qatar, Etihad and Emirates do not allow the obese cabin crew. I know Air Canada employ the obese flight attendants.

I have the open day for Qatar on June 9th and my second try with Emirates in July. Since Emirates is my favorite, I really want to try again with them. If I get the job with Qatar, can I give a longer notice period to increase my chance of success with Emirates, or do I have to sign a contract immediately?!
