In this video we show you how we ran electric to our shed/workshop for less than $200 with no digging or overhanging wires. If you do not have experience when working with electricity we would highly recommend you seek out a professional for this project.

If you know someone who this video would help please share it with them. Let us know in the comments what you think.

I've always wanted the knowledge of how to run an extension cable to my shed, i don't think i could have survived much longer without this wisdom.

Really long video just to say "I ran an extension cord to my shed"

This is perfect! I've been trying to think of a way to power my shed to be a part-time workshop and this is ideal! Keep up the good work! Small channels unite!!! 😉

I had a similar setup, for about a year, until I could bury the power cable. It was mostly for the lights in the work shed, and outlets for a radio. I wish the guys complaining about the electrical code violations would specify them so other viewers who don’t know them, could learn. I think it’s good to use 20-Amp wire in case you want to bury the power and put it on a dedicated 20-amp circuit in the future.

One sentence worth of information squeezed into eight and a half minutes.

For the longest I wanted power ran to my 10x20 and I knew since I would buy a house later on I wouldn't want to dig and wire it up so this video was the perfect idea thanks for that info 👌

I read through all of the comments and it is amazing how so many people in this world are so negative!!! I was taught to keep my mouth shut if I didn't have something nice to say.... And I broke that rule... lol... Awesome video!!!!

Thanks for this. I used to live in a camper hooked to a residence sort of like this and was wondering if I could do something similar for my shed in the backyard. I just really want a hangout spot and need a lamp and a fan, so this is perfect. Hiring an electrician seems like overkill for my project. Thanks so much!

I did exact same thing, but I took the time to drill through e studs. I also used a reverse receptacle so I can just plug in a cord from outside, powers the whole shed. Just like you.

Thank you so much... I have a shed just 14 away from my mobile home

Power for this shed should be on a separate dedicated circuit with ground fault protection.

After seeing the wiring job. This should be a what not to do to power a shed. I spotted at least three violations before you even got to the extension cord. Don’t screw around with electricity, it’s very unforgiving when it’s done wrong.

No. Unless this is the "Before" video in a safety series, in which case big thumbs up 👍

To be honest, I just love the "BEWARE OF WIFE" sign he has over the door inside the shed. Just found this channel and think it's awesome to continue to create the videos and have a person that deals with media you need to frame your videos a little better by moving yourself up closer to the camera. Just a tip for your future videos . I just subscribed!. Keep it up !

Conduit and hardwiring is a much better long term solution.

So your saying……. If I run an extension cord from the house. I can have power at the shed? Who would have thunk it?🥴

I don’t get the purpose of this video…
Everyone who hasn’t dug a hole and ran wire underground yet, is ALREADY using extension cords from the main house. 🤷🏻‍♂️
