I just realized, I've done a lot of these things all my life but not because I'm zero waste but because I'm working class. No take outs, tap water, farmers market, reusable bags, yep all check.

I think the term “low waste” sounds more attainable, “zero waste” sounds so daunting and probably isn’t attainable at all?

It's great to see Quinton keeping up being plant based! Lots of positive changes going on

did anyone else watch Auri attempt to be zero waste for 30 days YEARS ago and is now proud of seeing she's still doing it? :')

Why is it called zero waste instead of low waste? I feel like less people would be intimidated by the lifestyle if it was called low waste.

It's important do do all these (1) Reduce (2) reuse (3) repurpose (4) recycle AND (5) Encourage your community to do all these things.

Being perfect is not the goal -- small changes in a large number of people will have an impact

It’s so hard now because bulk sections now prebag products in plastic bags, at least near me they do. Whole Foods and sprouts

I’m so glad someone is finally making a video about trying to be zero waste during this pandemic!!! All the channels I follow act like nothing has changed. thank you!

Awesome! You don't have to fit into a label to be eco-friendly. Zero-waste, veganism, minimalism, you can't be perfect at everything, but just do what works for you because that's what the world needs right now! I'm working to spread awareness about this to as many people as possible!

I love how this shows both the highs and the lows during the challenge. It makes it seem more realistic and human. Also emphasizing not beating yourself up for slipping once or twice(or not being complete zero waste) because like Auri said: we don’t need a few people doing it perfect, we need everyone doing it imperfectly!

I wish we had a store like Tare where I live. Sadly, nothing like that within 2 hours of me 😔

for tofu and tempeh you can find it in a glass jar from the brand BIONA
it saves sooo much plastic and you can get your protein in

I love positive this entire video is. No shaming or guilt - as Ari said, just everyone doing it imperfectly is a great start!

I'm not zero waste by any means, but I've found a lot of ways to implement small things that if everyone did as well, we would have a much larger impact. I swapped my toothbrush to a charcoal bamboo toothbrush and love it, I use a cotton shower loofa that can be washed, I use a metal safety razer, I have used a reusable stainless water bottle from Tervis for years and love it, and most recently I switched to garbage bags made from sugar cane plastic. It still isn't great for the environment and sugar cane requires a lot of water, however, it is better than fossil fuel based plastic.

I'm OCD recycle queen ♻️ I put 90% of everything we use in the blue bins. Food scraps my brother taught me how to make my own compose area and my trash that goes to landfills are minimal. I love this. More people need to start recycling ♻️

Quinton and Rachel... this is for both of you: 👑 Both of you did such an ANAZING job with reducing your waste and had such inspiring attitudes throughout your week of being eco friendly! The real king and queen of this video... and don’t worry Auri you’re a queen too! Sending love to you all!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

I respect both of these people for trying to go zero waste (during the pandemic!). I really liked when Quinton said that he tried meal prepping but needs to keep ordering the food as it’s better for his life style, nice job for even trying!!! Just trying is a huge step!

I love this!! It's so inspiring 😍
Another great tip is, that you can regrow certain veggies!! For example spring onions. You just have to place the roots in a glass of water and just after one day you can see new growth ! Just make sure to change the water from time to time 🥰
