Car Losing Power | Loss of Acceleration | Finding the Fault With FIX

A short while back I had my car being pulled back as if I'm forcing it to accelerate to go somewhere, First gear and second is fine, but when it comes to third and on an up hill the car will not accelerate further and start losing its power. Went on checking through EGR Sensor, Exhaust Pipe, Brake Calipers.

Just got my car fixed today. The problem is the catalytic converter are blocked and that is the reason for the lost in acceleration. My mechanic told that the air from the engine cannot get out properly through the ekzos pipe. I got it changed for a cheaper catalytic converter instead of the original toyota parts. Before, my car can only gain acceleration around 60-90 km/h and to get even 60km/h i had to rev the pedal to the max. Wish this can help somehow for the people who had the same problem☺️

if it was rebuilt, double check to make sure the distributor wires to spark plugs are in the correct firing order, wrong spark sequences will cause a huge loss of power and backfire

I am having a similar problem. When i am driving on a motorway doing 60-70 and trying to overtake it takes very long to overtake. Also from full stop if i had to drive up hill it takes a lot of rev to puck up and than switch to second gear a lot of rev again and finally third. No fault code on dashboard. It just doesnt feel like i am getting what i expected when i put my foot all the way down accelerator. Car is fine no noise also no problem when driving around built up area. Its just when i try to join motorway i have to be very carefull and rev very high with lower gear to pick up my speed. When i press my foot down accelerator i just dont feel the power. My car is vauxhall astra 1.4 2012 excite.cheers

I just had the same problem, I found out that the front brakes were finished. I got them changed and the car drives fine. like 30 minutes ago, thanks for the video you saved me.

I had a 94 oldsmobile and I couldn't get over 65 without my car shaking losing power and acting like its missing.. never found out the issue any guesses? I could floor it and once over 65 it would bog down all the way to 5 miles per hour while still being floored and had the same shacking missing issue, new plugs wires and coil packs and ignition module which is connected to coil packs

Hi, I’ve noticed once I drive for a long period of time maybe a half hour to an hour straight my car starts to lose power when accelerating, and it has a burning smell and very noisy. Any advice?

I have had same problem with my Honda jazz … when I accelerate it feels like heavy drive. When i stop on signal and drive on it feels like car is losing pick up and takes time to reach normal speed. Also sometime when i uses brake with cloche pressed my car skids .. please can you give me any suggestions thanks

So does your rpm more than 3500 when u are at 70mph speed

Engine check light.
Getting these two codes as error

P0303 cylinder 3 misfire detected
P0351 ignition coil a primary secondary circuit

Will changing coil solve the issue?

I took my car to the mechanic for a control arm replacement but when I drove it, the acceleration wasn't working, do you know what could be the problem?

Nice! I had this problem all last week, just after replacing my brake pads and rotors (which are still squealing and grinding despite being brand new).
Glad to know it's probably my calipers vs. my fuel injection system.

But rear brake shouldn't spin freely as they have disk pads inside for brakes
