I am a student in one of the top iits (i won't disclose the name for personal our college most of the CS students are placed at High paying salaries but the catch is that only 25% of those jobs are related to CS...rest 75% jobs are related to management or of some other field. The reality is that majority ppl are not interested in the subject and they only chase high even ppl from mechanical and electrical branch learn coding on their own and are placed in top MNCs

I don't think CS degree is useless ever. You learn a lot and you use those ideas a lot. A CS degree is not to make you a developer, rather it is to make you understand the core logic behind computer science. Personally I have learned a lot through my CS degree. Even though I don't use my learnings everyday, I learned the basics concepts of every subjects which made my fundamentals strong. And I don't think courses are outdated. These courses just introduce you to the basics which are important to learn the core concepts. And I think we use these concepts all of the time but we just dont relate to it. For example you learn about multi threading, paging, memory management, databases, payloads, tcp, udp, databases, etc in CS Core courses which is equally important to sofware engineers. So please don't think that doing CS degree is useless.

Sorry bro, I don't agree that the curriculum taught in college is of no use to job.
The only difference is that we now use wrapper code over the underlying principles. If you really learn it well and infer the application and could correlate with tech around you, then you are good

What people don't tell about the education in US is, out of 100 companies that come to campus, less than 10% sponsor for visas or take international students. For some countries it is difficult to get a greencard and get more jobs. Many jobs require citizenship due to security reasons. Also, there are consultancies in US who market people's resume with fake experience, do fraudulent activities in H1Bs. Hopefully these things get fixed and help genuine people.
