It was originally supposed to be a standalone film, but once the crew caught wind of a larger cinematic universe being planned, they added a present day epilogue to tie it to the much bigger classic monster universe that Universal was starting. It was later decided that it wouldn’t be the initial film in the universe.

Great film. I thought it was an amazing way to think of Vlad Tepes the third. He was given the moniker impaler for a reason, but showing he did what he did to protect, gives a different view most wouldn't be taught, or possibly think of. no war is fought because one side is right and the other is wrong. War is waged, because both sides believe they are right.

I love that it showed that true love never dies or changes. I met My Husband when I was 14 and married at 16. We had 34yrs, wonderful years together before he was murdered. I met him in the hospital when I was a volunteer, our 1st kiss was in the hospital and so was our last. True love never dies. It's been 6yrs and I've still not dated those 34yrs will carry me into eternity ❤️💔❤️

it's a god damn tarvesty that universal didn't get the monster universe off the ground with this movie. it was a great film . then they tried again with "the mummy" and failed at it as well . the mistake making that one a "tom Cruise " movie.

they shoiuld ahve done a second film for this.
