Disaster Detail First Wash in 10 Years Jeep Cherokee XJ

This is a lost Jeep Cherokee XJ that was found in Texas by Bob Sorokanich, Deputy Editor of Road and Track Magazine. You are probably asking yourself why someone with access to pretty much any car in the world would want a 2-door Jeep Cherokee. Turns out this was his dream car since he was a small boy which he explains in the episode. This car was found somewhere in Texas in a barn find situation. He bought it sight unseen and shipped it back to NYC for a complete disaster detail and restoration. The paint needs major compounding and polishing and the interior was disgusting, so cleaning with a shampoo machine and power drill brush was necessary. Afterwards I applied AMMO Reflex Pro and revealed the car to him in the AMMO Studio a few weeks later. (We were delayed by a major hurricane in CT with no power for 8 days). Hope you enjoy -Larry Kosilla

You know a detailer is a badass when he continues a detail through a hurricane

That "told ya" was perfect cut! You should do this more often! Kudos to the editor!

FYI: This video would have been posted earlier but @3:00 the original music was "flagged" and I had to replace it with the current one you are hearing. Long story but this was the YT replacement. Ugg... :)

That is essentially a Holy Grail to a lot of XJ lovers.

Again, XJ'S are going to go up even more in value...getting harder to find

I’d imagine it wouldn’t be too hard to get a straight, white hood for a Cherokee

THIS IS SO EXCTING FOR ME ! I LOVE watching your videos, it calms my head . I’ve always wanted to detail vehicles.
I purchased a 2 door XJ during Covid closure snd completely restored it . Less than 2 weeks ago it was stolen and trashed . The paint was rattle canned and destroyed but I’ve been itching to bring it back to life. My XJ is older than me - this is THE EXACT MODEL I have

For the exterior parts, satin black gives a much more pleasing finish than matt in my humble opinon.

The car that I first ever cleaned like in depth when I was like 12 or 13 was a white 2 door Cherokee, that car was why I got into cleaning cars and made me want to become a detailer

The level of commitment. "There is a hurricane outside, let me keep detailing this jeep."

I doubt you'll ever see this Larry, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for everything you do for this community and being such a positive shining example of dedication and effort and hard work. The world definitely doesn't deserve you, but we absolutely could use a million more people like you. I've watched everything you've posted for years and will continue to do so untill you call it quits, then I'll watch it all again anyway. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
