"This is an advanced video, so we'll just recommend you delete google entirely. We even have a video on how to do just that."
SUBBED! So subbed.

I wouldn't be mad if Techlore had more mini rants in the videos

Great content as always

I love how you communicate things, and provide a great amount of knowledge in a digestible, organized and chill manner that everyone can be comfortable with.

The fact that you suggested Fedora, Debian, and Arch proves your positive competence on the matter of "distros". The only people who argue "which is better" are noobs that don't realize that pretty much all distros are merely forks of those 3 source distros. The only other people who throw a fit over distro's are the Gentoo crew; but that deserves a conversation in and of itself.

Great video. Subscribed.

Thank you so much for this video. I use Linux for more than 10 years now but I'm always looking for ways to improve my setting. You provided just that.

This remind me of the time my room mate in college had a camera cover covering his camera so he bought a 3rd party one because he thought his was broken

Speaking of threat model, I often see people in security and privacy forums wanting to go all out with privacy and security, way beyond their threat model, often claiming that they want to keep the gov. out, but when asked if they are holding state secrets, they say no. I'm more than happy just using Linux rather than Windows, that's my threat model, telemetry and advertisements.

As a daily driver i highly encourage Parrot OS home edition. It's focused on security and privacy and it comes with anonSurf and other valuable tools.

You commented that "Flatpaks take you pretty far without very much complexity." As I understand them, Flatpaks do NOT put everything in a singel folder the way that AppImages do and I wonder what repercussions there are regarding that model.
Can you compare for us Flatpak/AppImage/Snap re: security?
.
Come on, you guys. That sh!t belongs in your "About" page. The video notes should contain actual notes on the video! TechLore does it right.

Seems very comprehensive; I do the beginner and intermediate parts as a matter of course but I just realized how exhausting it is.

Great video, I think you should've included browser compartmentlization tho. If someone uses a browser to run Discord, Zoom or other spyware like it, that would require lowering security settings to an unacceptable level for all other use cases

You don't even need a fancy automatic updates app for updating Linux. Assuming you understand Linux, just setup a scheduled update system with cron to execute the apt weekly. It's really easy to do.
