Weird question. Can a rocky body by dense and fast enough that it misses Earth by impact, but DOES slide in and out of the edge of our atmosphere?
So, to visualize, imagine a curved line for atmo, and then a thumbprint sized blotch entering on the left, exiting on the right, burning up into a pencil eraser-sized blotch on the right (entry and exit being where it crosses in and out of the curved line on a linear trajectory by comparison)
