Chinanu Onuaku of the Rockets took us back to the George Mikan and Rick Barry days with his under handed free throw.

Dudes who have too much pride to shoot underhanded forget that entire crowds groan as they step to the free throw line. They also forget that teams foul them on purpose because of how much they suck at free throws. And they also forget that people laugh at how bad their misses are. But yeah, I guess they can always hold onto their dignity.

This is the statistically provable best way to make a free throw. There are less moving parts. It is a more comfortable and natural movement. It is more easily repeatable once you have the correct velocity down. But...players are just afraid of looking like sissies. Wilt Chamberlain should be proof enough for anyone that this way is the best. His free throw percentage almost doubled when he shot it underhanded. But even he switched back for fear of being teased.
