Even though this was uploaded 8 years ago, it helped me sir as tomorrow i'll be writing my science exams THANK YOU😂

Correct me if I'm wrong.
When the cap is on air pressure prevents water from coming out, if water was to come out it would create a vacuum in the bottle which air pressure wants to keep full, thus not letting the water out. However when the cap is off, it is not air pressure that is pushing the water out because air pressure is at equilibrium at this point. When the cap is off gravity is allowed to push the water out without the interference of air pressure. If this experiment was done in a vacuum then water would come out with or without the cap on simply due to gravity.

thank you for all the amazing and simple demonstration with clear explanation.

Thank you for this video. I can have alternative way of discussing air pressure to my class without using any other materials aside from push pins and bottled water. Thank God I watched this video. Please continue on creating knowledgeable videos. God Speed!!

hi jared 👋 i'm doing a science project about air pressure and your video helps me a lot :) *thank you*

sorry, I have a question it's for my science project. what if I make a bigger hole in the bottle? will it leak out?

Dude, you love air pressure! (And I love your videos).

But sir if the atmosphere pushes the bottle then the water inside it also feel the pushing force. Then why it not come out from the hole?

first time, i subscribed to a channel after watching the first video. Minor comment on this video, could have added more information on big size hole.

Thank you sir for such a fantastic project !!!! Thanks again

Awesome, but small question, at first nothing could come out, as air pressure is greater than water column head

but when we uncap for sometime, there will be some air which gets trapped in the bottle, couldn’t that air push water out?

Pls explain

This can be very confusing for many clever children (and peaople), because as stated, there is an air pressure forcing on each inch of the bottle, so if the cap is off, there is "mostly" the same pressure forcing on top of the water and the same pressure forcing on the side hole ... so there is an equiliubrium and nothing should happen (in terms of air pressure). What drives the water out of the bottle is the pressure of the water above the side hole, not the air pressure. So beware of such wrong information, that can seem to be right.

sir on both sides pressure is p atm (after un capping ), so there must be water pressure acting which is net pressure . this message is not conveyed sir

hello there ....
Can you tell me please,
how can i make watering drippers with plastic water bottles
Thank you for your Attention....

if you make a bigger hole without removing the cap, wouldn't it leak? how do you explain this phenomenon? wouldn't weight of the water also contribute?

ideas may help to solve all the problems...

thanks you for the good experiment, how to lose pressure on the bottle of lemon?

Hey Jared, what would happen if you put that same bottle with a loose or cap completely off submerged in a tub of water? Will the water INSIDE the bottle only flow out once the water surrounding the bottle goes lower than the pinhole?

Not only cool, it necessary for planes and rockets. As for so much as gravity effect, I love thee 500 gallon open upsidedown metal drum caving in once a fire has made a vacuum inside it= that's pressure that allows tons to fligh in thee sky!
