The Single European Sky (SES) is an initiative, launched by the European Commission in 1999, to reform the architecture of European ATM. It puts forward a legislative approach to meet future capacity and safety needs at a European rather than at local level.

EUROCONTROL is actively involved in the SES initiative as it brings together the ATM community to focus on shared objectives and as it works to create a responsive and dynamic network within the framework of a single European sky.
