Bro the editors notes had me dying 😂 I’m glad you enjoy the movie man. It’s awesome to see a new person to the StarWars universe experience it with fresh eyes. Love the channel bro!

Fun fact: the actor that plays Wedge is Ewan McGregor’s uncle (Obi Wan in the prequels)

Hey Alex, great reaction! Super fun to see someone going through Star Wars for the first time!

Remember the fight between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan? Well, someone remade it a few years ago as an unofficial film project thingy, and it's absolutely amazing. That being said, MAKE SURE TO WATCH ALL 6 EPISODES FIRST! They add a bunch of spoilers for the rest of the series to really play up the impact of the scene. Once that's done, look up "Star Wars Scene 38 Reimagined". Hope you enjoy!

I was five years old when I saw Star Wars back in 1978 in Bristol, U.K. with my family. We had to queue (wait in line) for over two hours. The line went from the doors, down the side of the cinema, up the next street, then down another street, until we had completed a circuit of the entire block. You don’t see queues like that anymore. That always left an impression on me, as well as that opening shot of the Star Destroyer chasing the Blockade Runner. It was huge. No one had ever seen anything like that before. This movie was groundbreaking.

Great reaction! Love these movies and glad you’re reacting to them with us❤️26:48 is a funny scene you kept in, it was an accident but they decided to leave it in I heard😂

John williams is a god! He did all the music for the movie.. He had an whole orchestra. One of my favorite reasons why i LOVE star wars is that here is alot of back stories. You would have to watch all of them to fully understand. The little red guys are called jawa's... They trade parts and whatever scraps they find. If you watched the prequels, it would answer alot of the things you see in this movie and the following movies

1977- I was 14 years old, my dad took me to see it. It was the first common ground we ever had. He loved it, and so did I.

I was 8 when I first saw Star Wars in the theatre in 1977. There was no DVD, no Internet—just pure imagination. We scavenged anything with a Star Wars image: grainy newspaper clippings, soda bottle caps, game cards—you name it. We couldn’t rewatch it like people do today (unless you count replaying it over and over in your head), not until VHS tapes finally arrived. And we had to wait four years for the next movie!

Everything around us became part of the Star Wars universe: a pile of sand was Tatooine, a garbage bin looked like R2-D2, a bike helmet became Darth Vader’s mask, and flashlights turned into lightsabers. That’s how deep it lived in our imagination.

So imagine the thrill—after 26 long years—when The Phantom Menace finally hit theatres. They were packed with grown-up kids bringing their kids, all wide-eyed and excited to return to “a galaxy far, far away…”

You mentioned that the Star Wars trench run could have inspired the Top Gun dogfights…
The storyboarding for the Death Star raid was based on a war movie called 633 Squadron, and the star pilots dialogue was inspired by the movie The Dam Busters.

you also noticed how R2 fixes the ship as they are flying…
He is an Astro Mech droid—it’s what he’s built for, but he’s also quite capable in other instances—data retrieval, hidden compartments, etc.

Alex, welcome to the Star Wars journey. I am a 63 year old proud Star Wars Nerd, I was in high school in 1977 when Star Wars was released. Since then I have seen the original series hundreds of times, and yes I still watch them. I have also watched ALL of the newer films and shows and I love them all. When you learn the relationships between the different people, races and factions in the Star Wars Universe you will understand the passion Star Wars fans have for the Universe.

Enjoy the ride...😃😄

Saw this as a 7 yr. old in the largest theater in town back in '77. The folks coming out of the previous showing all excitedly discussing what they had seen made for the most anticipation I had felt up to that point in my life.

I watched this at a drive-in with my twin brother and older brother David (R.I.P.) who took us to see it. There had never been a movie of this scale before dealing with space and science fiction. It truly was groundbreaking for its time. I did watch the other two in movie theaters.
