An a non American, I find it somewhat amusing/amazing that you -can- could be convicted of a felony and be barred from voting however you -can- could still run for office. (EDIT - can changed to could for clarity. Also I am not suggesting anybody HAS been convicted just the notion.) I feel like many Americans don't understand "the right to free speech". Yes, you're allowed to say anything your heart desires. You will not be censored by the state. But you will still face the consequences of your actions.

Now you need to do a video on what happens when you intimidate jurors, witnesses, and Council by posting threatening social media posts less than 24 hours after being told not to do these things by a judge.

Remember how over the last two years there have been a lot of complaints about how the Justice Department has spent too much time going after the low level foot soldiers from Jan 6 while ignoring the guys at the top who set it up and were directing it? Now we see the government's long game strategy. Lots of the nuance defence arguments that T-p might want to use have already been used and rejected multiple times. I presume at least some of them went through an appeal process so that by now there is a fair amount of case law written by multiple judges from multiple jurisdictions that the current Judge can refer to when making rulings.

As an Australian, I find it amazing that primaries are covered by federal electoral law. America is such an entrenched two-party system that internal party processes are covered by electoral law.

The mental state issue is so difficult because Trump doesn't _believe_ one way or the other. The truth is entirely irrelevant to him. He wants so desperately to be glorified, admired, respected, and empowered that it just doesn't matter what actually happened, what the rules are, or what he has to do or say to achieve those goals. He is indifferent to reality.
