Sad to see Lavasa like this. When it started, Many from Pune/Mumbai used to visit Lavasa in weekends.

I visited Lavasa somewhere around 2013; believe me, it was the best city I have seen in my whole life even though I live in Delhi. The complex, the roads, and the entire design were just something you'll never see in India. While growing up to this day I had a little dream to move to Pune for a job (for which I am still studying hard), just because I thought Lavasa was the best place that I could visit on weekends. I never checked on the condition of the city since 2013 and now after watching this video, I am devastated. It feels like a personal loss to me.

Also, I don't know the facts but I remember that there was still construction going on in the mountains in 2013. If there was a notice being issued in 2010 then that construction was illegal too.

I hope this city will be restored someday in the future.

Imagine if it was success by 2015 ...India would have its own European like city literally this looks just like a dream man! agar ek Banti toh aur bhi bante and it could give an economical boost but only God knows what is in the destiny I hope the project revive someday and hit success!! this is sad and heart wrenching at some point. Being a construction enthusiast, I've always thought that India could make a city like this and what a great city it would be. But sadly corruption got it. Had it been free of it and properly handled, It would havebeen the bigest get away place leaving even Goa behind. I would love to see if the project reignites and gets redeveloped again with proper permissions and free of corruption this time. We wouldnt have to go to any other country for leisure then. Number of things missing here: Lavasa has been acquired by Darwin Platform but they have other problems of their own, so the anticipated development is at a standstill.
Christ has a thriving campus and is basically running the economy of the township. Most of the rentals here are inhabited by students. Christ has taken over a number of hotels and converted them into hostel accommodation. Things aren't perfect but they're functioning and the students have adapted and made the city their own. There are mom and pop supermarkets, plenty of eateries, an Apollo pharmacy, taxi services, and a functional postal service and Amazon deliveries. Apart from Lavasa security there is also campus security ensuring the safety of the students and faculty. There is a curfew to further ensure safety. Yes it's a ghost town, but also very much alive with all the students and a few retirees who have made the town their home.

We used to study in symbiosis and used to travel to lavassa with beers for a night drive or sometimes weekly getaway with friends. It was magical and looked not anything like regular India. We used to be in awe of its magical realism and sad to see what has happened.
