When high school students go to college they have tendency to make costly financial mistakes and are unable to cook. This is because they were not prepared because schools were so busy teaching academics and were not teaching there students about life skills.

You are exactly right. Those classes should be a requirement to graduate. When I was growing up it was called home economics class. You learned basic cooking, sewing and finances. The question is, why did this stop?
