The Alpine Butterfly sounds like something between a secret martial arts technique and a sexual maneuver.

This is what I want to see. Clear explanation of how you might use the knot, and clear instructions on how to tie it.

When i was a little boyscout, our scout leader would teach us a TON of knots. i remember being able to know most of them. Now i dont remember sh*t but discovering this channel reminded me of my boyscout days and nostalgia punched me in the face with a force of an 18 wheeler truck and made me shed a tear remembering all the times we camped and bonded near a campfire.

No clue why this was in my feed. But all my Xmas gifts are gonna have really weird bows tied on them.

The alpine butterfly, the bowline, the sheet bend, and the two half hitch are the four knots that will get you through the apocalypse.

I was taught a ton of different knots in high school, but I assume majority of schools don’t really offer those types of classes anymore but it has been super helpful

My grandfather was a master rigger on a shipyard in Orange County. He still ties some great knots. I didn't learn much of that, but I grew up untying his knots, and I think there are few knots I couldn't untie lol

I've accidentally made this loop before, not knowing anything about it and had a hard time undoing it xD

I tie the alpine butterfly all the time. It's one of the most useful knots there is. One of my top 5.

I'm gonna use this for a clothes line so I can hang clothes on a hanger without them bunching up together

For some reason I see myself out in the woods like, "guys check this out, I learned it from a YouTube video", and just struggling with some rope for the next 10 minutes before the guys walk off

Took up the cords to my earbuds and did it first try, you're awesome at giving instructions!

I love the complex names that non-crocheters give knots, while I'm over here with "the wrappy round one that makes a circle that you tighten after you get the stitches in"

A manual on knots is vastly underrated. Thank you!
