Who else here is a Pentatonix fan just watching them blow everyone away?

When Avi is singing the lyrics, Sott covers the bass elements. He can go low enough, except for the *deep* bass stuff.

God: Mitch, do you want to have the best male or female voice? Mitch: Yes

You should listen to “Mary, Did You Know” so you can hear “Mr. Beatbox” sing.

Try this, turn off ALL lights, listen at night - no light. Lay on the floor, headset on eyes closed. This will be one of the most euphoric moments of your life. You will not be able to stop your body from "feeling" every heartbeat.

Jase: “I felt that...”

Their trick is, Scott and Kevin set your groove, get you relaxed... then Kirstin and Mitch pierce your soul and Avi shakes your core. Then boom. They own you. 😊

I really respect how you seem like such a genuine and chill guy who just wants to find and appreciate good music. It’s really refreshing!!

I love that Mitch's voice is actually higher than Kirsten's. :D I do miss Avi, but he's doing well with his solo career.

Whenever Avi (or Matt in their newer stuff) has the lead it'll be Scott (tall blond guy) doing the bass. You'll see it in the live version. You also heard some of his lower range in your first PTX video - Sound of Silence.
Kevin (the beatboxer) is a tenor - I recommend watching Imagine next as they're all singing in that one

The original artist heard them perform this shortly before his death and commented that this was the best version he had heard

You should seriously check out Kevin’s solo
cover of Marian hills “Down”....you will lose your damn mind when you watch it.

"I don't know if there's a tear coming to my eye, or if I'm about to get goosebumps...."
The answer is YES.

Pentatonix is so damned good, I literally have to cry a little. It's not manly, I know! Leave me alone. Their performance of some of these songs is just mind-blowing!

Been following Pentatonix since their "Sing Off" days, and yes they are just that good.

For future reference:
Scott: Baritone - covers bass parts occasionally & often harmonizes in tenor range.
Mitch: Tenor/Counter-Tenor - often sings close harmony with Kirstin, has some whistle notes.
Kevin: Beatbox/Classically trained cellist - sings tenor parts occasionally.
Avi: Bass/Classically trained vocalist - can sing leads & harmonies from bass through tenor.
Kirstin: Mezzo-soprano - has well-controlled whistle notes.
Matt: Baritone - replaced Avi on bass, can sing leads & harmonies from bass through tenor.

There is a feature here that is underrated that is used perfectly and to great effect, silence. You cannot have loud or busy without a silent gap. Listen carefully, and there are spaces of utter silence, , , and the total is so much better for it. Wow is right.

Ok I think I'm falling in love with you. I watched your reaction to The Sound of Silence and recommended Hallelujah. I subscribed after that and then found this reaction. The fact that you picked up on Mitch's style and appreciated it so much upped my respect for you exponentially. I love your sensitivity in these two reactions and how you can appreciate both heavy metal and a capella. You have a beautiful soul. Thank you for all of that.
