My wife still sees life through pink coloured glasses. What kills her is when she asks me: “But when are we going to use all this!?”

and I reply…: “I hope NEVER”

That blows her mind 😂

I use a five gallon bucket for just myself a day. I have empty 5 gallon fryer oil containers. I get these from the restaurants they just throw them away. Good luck everyone. Keep your gardens watered and weeded.

I use the 3 gallon containers that stack up/down instead of the other way - works best for me with my hands/strength not what they used to be.

We store all the water from our dehumidifiers that fill up 5 gallon buckets per day. Sometimes more, depends on the humidity %. Our garages along the back walls and the sides of the walls, have 3 five gallon buckets high. We have 3 garages. We have about 900 gallons in those buckets. We rotate that water now with washing our vehicles, watering our flower gardens and thorn bushes. If we empty a bucket, it gets filles that day or the next. We can either filter them and then distill it for drinking and cooking. For washing or flushing, we don't need to filter it. We also have 14 IBC totes filled outdoors. I also save all the Arizona Ice Tea gallon bottles. They are food grade and heavy plastic with a handle, easier to carry and pour (for me). We have about 20 of those. We also have 24 half gallon glass jugs that we put filtered water in them.

We have several solar generators always charged, because we are using them to reduce our electric usage, and reducing our bills. We also have black out curtains to keep it dark from the outside.

We have plenty of preserved food in different places other than our house.

Medications is another concern of mine. I'm always working on improving preps and watching what other people do for ideas.

“People will steal your stuff”
We were headed thru FLa to a power plant job. We were driving FL50 hauling 5th wheel with motorcycle on back. Broke down by Lake O in middle of night.. while waiting for AAA to rescue… we put out orange cones. I saw movement in big side mirrors & told my husband. He & protection dog went to ck out… some guy was stealing the big cones 😮 he said I didn’t know you were using them 🤦‍♀️
And yes AAA sent a truck big enough to haul all together!

Power went off here for a while, but I was ready, all systems worked. STRESS MEANS you go through supplies even faster Never Stop Prepping. I have WATER BRICKS, some times it's hard to tighten them they dribble, SOLUTION "DISH SOAP" dribble some on the threads. Great week all 👍

If you use vinegar by the gallon, those vinegar jugs are very durable and seem to last longer than your typical plastic jug. They don't stack, but are a free option for water.

My basement has a 2 sump pump system. 1 controls the perimeter water around the house and the other controls water under the foundation. I'm in a high water table area, so the pump that controls the below foundation water runs approximately every 6 minuites. I have half a dozen sawyer filters that I could use to process dozens of gallon per day. Just throwing this out there for anybody else who may have over looked there sump system as a means to collect water.

I've pre-cooked a lot of beans and then dehydrated them so that once rehydrated, they won't take so long to cook.

I stock up on the 1 gallon and 5 gallon bottles and I usually have a 2 or 3 week supply at all times, water does take up a lot of space but I keep it in every room of my house.

I know where I live the traffic would be horrendous in a SHTF scenario. I wouldn't get anywhere in any direction.

Very good video. Very very well laid out, one of the clearest I've seen. I've been looking at my water containers lately and have actually 1 water brick, been considering getting more. Very good info and things to really think about all around, thank you
