I'm so blessed that I love my mother in law. She is welcome at my house anytime. She understands boundaries though so she would always announce herself. She has a lot of qualities I love and admire in my husband. She's very easy to like. I hope our kids get her charm grace and kindness.

My mother lived across the street from us & never once came over without calling first unless it was an absolute emergency. She knows I have ptsd & am easily startled by sudden loud noises.

My M.I.L however did not care. Thankfully we were never home when she just popped on by! The last time she did it she got furious & sent me an angry text about how "Y'ALL *NEED* TO BE THERE WHEN I GO OVER THERE! UNANNOUNCED OR NOT!" I told her she was being inappropriate & that shit wasn't gonna fly.

Thankfully we we were already planning to move. We never gave her our new address. My husband usually ignores her phone calls & texts. We never go to see her either. There's a whole messy backstory to all of that which I won't go into. Sometimes you just gotta cut people out to be happy & healthy.

My MIL used to drop by unannounced. I hated it so much, especially when I just got my baby to sleep. My MIL is not Linda bad. But damn was it a fight to have to get her to stop coming by without calling me first.

This was my MIL. She always took my side if my husband and I fought. She treated me like her daughter and was truly the mother of my heart.

My mom used to abuse me by screaming & hitting me awake to go do chores at midnight. I'm VERY uncomfortable with being surprised awake. Apparently I scratched & caused my husband to bleed early on in our relationship.
He & our kids are the only ones my unconscious minds trusts.

I told my husband if his mother shows up randomly to my house one more time without notifying me, she was going to have her invitation to come over at all revoked. She kept bringing big boxes of candy 2 times a week no matter how many times my husband asked her to stop so she started coming before he got off work like I was going to suddenly be okay with it!

😂😂😂😂 I broke my arm when I had two babies and my FIL brought my MIL to help me. She snuck out every morning and didn't come back till noon so I had to get the babies up and feed them. Then she would sneak out after lunch and spend all day doing her laundry while I was hanging up my kids clothes up on a clothesline because the dryer was broken. Thankfully, I did learn during this time that she was completely insane which was then diagnosed years later so I was right.😂😂😂
