What is Acceleration?

What is Acceleration? Does it mean going really fast? Acceleration in Physics is defined as the rate of change of velocity. Acceleration and retardation are discussed with simple everyday examples! Acceleration due to Gravity is analyzed using the motion of a ball. Uniform Acceleration and Non-Uniform Acceleration are compared.

1. -9.8m/s2
2. 0.5m/s2
3. Yes it is accelerated motion because the velocity is not constant and the direction will not change

I would like to say...that I tried to understand a lot from my teacher and many other you tube videos....but I was not able to understand acceleration at all....but sir you have made it crystally clear...thank you sir a lot lot lot....may you always make such useful videos for our help ...thanks a lot

Q1) (b)-9.8m/sq.s
Q2) a=(v - u)/t v=30m/s
=0.5m/sq.s u=0m/s
t=1minute=60s
Q3) Yes, it is acceleration . Because acceleration is change of
velocity and velocity is speed with direction . As the bee is flying randomly, the direction is changing
. It has a constant speed but not a
constant velocity.

1- 2nd option because of retardation means -ve
2- 0.5m/s.s
3- yes, due to change in velocity...
Thanks

here are my answers:-
Q1, (b)
Q2, 0.5 m/s^2
Q3 Yes because the change in direction is considered a change in velocity even if there is no change in magnitude.

You made this concept so much easier, thank you sir

Ans1; -9.8m/s²
Ans2; 0.5m/s²
Ans3; It is in accelerated motion with changing velocity in every direction.

1 ans is -9.8 m/s square
2 ans is a=30-0/60=0.5 m/s square
3 ans yes because the bee is flying by changing its direction.

Top 3 questions answers-
1) - 9.8 m/sec² since this case is retardation.
2) 0.5 m/sec².
3) yes it's accelerated motion since the velocity is changing here. We know that Acceleration is rate of change of velocity.

Sir would you please check my answers?

1st answer
The value of acceleration of a ball is -9.8m/s² because the ball's speed is decreasing due to earth's gravity. So, it is a case of retardation while when ball is goes down it's speed is increases so that is the case of acceleration.

2nd answer
Initial velocity of a car is = 0m/s
Final velocity of a car is = 30m/s
So, Acceleration = Change of Velocity÷Time
a = (v-u)÷t
a = (30-0)m/s÷60s
a = 30 m/s ÷60s
a = 0.5m/s²

3rd answer
Bee is randomly moving in a room at a speed of 1m/s. It means bee is not changing it's speed that's why it's speed is constant. But it is changing it's direction because it is randomly moving in a room . So, bee is changing it's direction that means it is changing it's velocity .
And Acceleration is a rate of change of velocity so, this is accelerated motion
And finally sir you are a great teacher and your explanation are too good

1. B, 2. 0.5m/s^2, 3. The bee is in accelerated motion. Because of change in direction of the bee (randomly)

Sir thanks, sir. I wanted to study physics with the best visualisation and with concept clarity. Even though the byjus app gives us animation, you teach not with animation but with the real world. And it will also be easier to understand as you are using the objects that we use in daily life to illustrate. I am from a poor background, sir. And I wanted to learn physics like this but in tuitions, they will charge big amounts. sir no words to say your effort for teaching. I love it. Don't stop teaching at any point. You are doing one of the holy jobs on the planet. And answers for the top 3 questions
1) b. 9.80ms^-2
2). 0.5 ms^-2
3). The bee is accelerated because displacement is a speed in single direction or a line. If we take any point in the line we can see that the velocity will be different because the bee is randomly moving round the room. Which in turn affects the velocity. And it may not be accelerated if it's inittial and final position is same. Because, then the displacement will be zero. I was stuck at this chapter for a day. Then I found you. Probably the best find in my life.👍

Q1 answer -9.8m/s*2
Q2 answer 0.5 m/s*2
Q3 answer yes, bee is in accelerated motion because it's changing its direction with speed 1m/s. As we know we can change acceleration by changing direction.
Thank you sir

2) 0.5 m/square
3) It is an accelerated motion because as the velocity is constant but it direction is random and as the velocity is a Vector quantity, the change in the direction of the bee cause in change in velocity and hence it is an accelerated motion..

1.(b) -9.8
2 .=30/60=0.5m/s^2
3.yes because of the change in direction= change in velocity=acceleration

1. B
2. 0.5 m/s^2
3. Since it is moving randomly, its direction is changing as well. But the point is speed/velocity is the same. I think it is accelerated motion. Quite tricky though🤔

Oues 1= -9.8 m/s per square
Oues 2= a=v-u/t
Initial velocity =0
Final velocity =30m/s
Time=1min = 60 sec
a=(30-0)/60
Ans = 0.5
Oues3=No, it is not accelerated motion beacause speed 1m/s is constant but direction is not constant
