That gesture became the pray for Bhudda.
Finally in recent Japan, it became the gesture of plea.

Hi,
yes, "muri, muri" means "impossible" or "no way". When you tell someone that something is impossible or
you don't think s/he can do it, you can say "muri, muri" in casual conversation.

i put sticky notes of the names of the objects in japanese everywhere in my house and i tend to say out loud in japanese what im doing >.< seems silly but it really does help me to remember. i just hope that i will learn enough that i can impress my japanese bestie whos coming to study abroad this summer.
