Volvo squeak noise XC60, S60, V60, V70, XC70, S80-Check the Rear Trailing Arm Bushing (2011-2018 P3)

Volvo XC60 (2012 with 87,000 miles) squeaks. The squeak noise was most noticeable over speed bumps and over bumps in general. A failed trailing arm bushing is a very common failure. You can replace it with a similar or identical rubber bushing like the original OEM bushing or you can replace it with a Powerflex bushing (premium-grade polyurethane) or you can even replace the entire trailing arm which includes a new bushing. You don't necessarily need to replace both at the same time unless both have failed. You don't really save any money doing both at the same time if only one is failed, although the likelihood of the other side eventually failing is pretty high.
