The most UNDERRATED Nikon feature on every camera??? How to use your Nikon without the instructions

Something a little bit different for you today - the most underrated feature on Nikon cameras (in our opinion) is the fact that even if you don't know what a button or menu item does, you can find out immediately using the QUESTION MARK button.

Located in every Nikon digital camera, this built-in tips and tricks feature is sometimes their best kept secret that shouldn't be a secret!

I ignored it for 40 years, now I know. Thank you :-))

Opened the video expecting some more in depth information, but I'll happily listen to Becky talk about ANYTHING 😊

I've been with Nikon for 45 years and I am STILL learning new things about their cameras. 👍

For me, one of the biggest underestimated features from Nikon cameras is the "Active D-Lighting"! Combined with Aperture Priority is a very amazing thing!

I balked a little at calling the D5300 a beginner's camera but I suppose it is. I love the shutter sound/feel of my D5300 more than on my D7200 or D800. I love that it has WiFi and GPS (dropped in later models), and that it does 1080p/60 without having to 1.3x crop - unlike my newer D7200!? I also love its 24mpix sensor for wildlife and macro image crops. The D5300 is an epic Nikon. Love the channel! Keep it up! 😀

That’s amazing. I have been using Nikon for about 20 years and I didn’t know what the “?” Button was for.🤗💕

It would be also helpful for some Nikon users how to master high dynamic and high contrast scenes. Active D-Lighting and hightlight-weighted metering can help a lot here if you want good out-of-camera JPEG images.

That's why i like the Nikons. They have a user-friendly interface and i have also used it a few times.

So true Becky, as a long time Nikon shooter, I have valued this feature, and when I purchased a Fujifilm GFX 100S, I sorely missed this feature when trying to learn the Fuji menu system. It should be on every camera.

Love and use the feature often. I still use my D5300 for wildlife and my Z’s for mostly everything else.

I loved how my D5200 told me everything I needed to know. My Z6II is no different. Nikon is king

I would also recommend the Nikon Digitutor YouTube channel where they explain a lot of things. For example the video about lens control ring and customizing lens controls was very insightful for me as they explain the roles for photo and video usage.

Yep, that button helped me a ton when I transitioned from Canon and when I was exploring the custom settings menu. It's a brilliant feature.

Oh yeah, I've seen that question mark. Now I know what it does.

This is great feature - I never used it before and always gone to the user manual online... This will save me time now - thanks! What I definitely missing in the Nikon cameras - is the cancel of zoomed preview when half press the shutter! I love to use manual focusing lenses on my Nikon Z5. I have assigned the zoom 100% to the AF-ON button. Now - to focus I press the AF-ON - focus, press AF-ON again to cancel zoom, compose shot and then press shutter button. But on my ancient Fuji X-E1 I have the option to press the wheel (to get to 100% zoom), then half-press the shutter button - this will cancel the Zoom. This will save a lot to me (actually - one additional button press, every time)!

I used it all the time as a refresher. I love it! (???)

I would love for the landing screen for the '?' button to read 'Tut tut, you've not bothered to read your instruction book have you?'.
