Scarab’s objective is to take down Fionna and Cake, he has the power to travel universes, I doubt he killed Finn, he was just getting Finn out of the way and was gonna use Finn as a mat to to quickly charge at the three, remember, Fionna, Cake and Simon needed to leave as quickly as possible and Scarab wanted to eliminate them as quickly as possible before they can escape.

Fun fact, farmworld finn is actually the og finn that got transported there after making his wish that the lich never existed. The finn we follow in adventure after Jake makes his wish is a duplicate created as a result.

Realistically scarob is highly experienced, his job wasn’t to kill Finn and he had no real reason to, he can hold back if he wants to and he was even holding back against people he wanted to kill, he was stopped by 4 normal humans for 5-10 seconds, if he’s that suppressed against people he wants to kill then there’s no way he just killed Finn with 1 attack especially with no reason to
