CCTV shows killer stalking ex-girlfriend moments before murder

A murderer who travelled more than 140 miles to try and behead his former girlfriend in an alleyway was branded a “coward” when he refused to appear in court for sentencing.

Dennis Akpomedaye, 30, used a large kitchen knife to saw at Anna Jedrkowiak’s neck after stabbing her almost 40 times in Ealing, west London, in front of her new boyfriend.

Kingston Crown Court heard how Akpomedaye had taken a coach ride from Newport South Wales two days prior to the “barbaric” and “cowardly” attack on May 29 last year.

CCTV footage played to the court showed Akpomedaye, wearing a hood and balaclava, waiting for the 21-year-old university student, known as Ania, to finish her shift at a restaurant.

How was he allowed to sit in jail and not attend court!!?? Just because he does not want to face anybody, so the authorities just let him. It is staggering and disgusting that it is allowed, just shows the total lack of respect for the justice system and more importantly the poor family!!
Surely it should have been dragged from its cell and forced to listen to the proceedings.

"Infront of her new boyfriend" - I am sorry but unless this new boyfriend suffered a spinal injury due to the attack that left him paralysed. He shouldn't have been watching anything.... he should have been acting. Society is so fooked nowadays.

29 years? So in 29 years she will magically respawn like in a computer game then? Life should mean life. He should never get out and instead learn a trade in prison and use that skill to make something useful that can benefit the community.

So sad what happened remember the next day walking that way to university and it was closed police off walked that way so many times when was at uni really sad what happened to her because someone could not let it go
