As an automation engineer, this is a very neat _hobbyist_ product and I might even be interested

For mini robots you can actually expect to see on the production floor, check out something like the Fanuc LR-Mate or its new CRX series (other brands have similar options too). The reliability, repeatability, speed, and integration with existing industrial controllers (not to mention cost!) is orders of magnitude higher
