Your hens are happy!! I tried the straw bale and mind sat on it, they are a little lazy. 🤣 I have to break it up for them.

wE bought two to make jack o lanterns, and the deer came up on our porch to eat them. So we took all the seeds to the backyard we are putting MORE out this year; off the porch, where they can reach them. One chicken, but she'll help them clean up! (some of the seeds going back up on the hill for next year) we'll eat a few ourselves. I eat a lot of shredded cabbage and I share! Trying more fall crops next year; spring is all in the containers in the front. She can reach some of the last cherry tomatos and they are sweet! I do want to get a ball and chain, so smaller bits of vegitation, picked from a dangling ball.

We do bobbing for apples. They go nuts. I also take a 2l bottle. Dry it out. Drill holes and fill it with scratch. Keeps them entertained.

I saw a good idea the other day about making your own fly larve from kitchen scraps and just leaving it out in a bucket and the flys lay eggs and you have ready feed for them and also using beans and pasta for feed is another way to keep them pecking and give them variety in food.
