This DONDOZO Build EASILY SOLOs the 7 Star Sceptile Tera Raid • Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Use this Dondozo build to easily solo the 7 Star Sceptile Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This build was shared with me by the DANimal Black Red Pill. It is one of the many viable builds you can use to defeat Emboar. It is my favorite build to use to beat Sceptile the Unrivaled. Use this Dondozo build to catch Sceptile with the Mightiest Mark.

I love that Sceptile is going to have a Dragon tera type as a nod to it's mega evolution.

Dondozo Build
Nature: Adamant (+ Atk, - Sp. Atk)
EVs: 252 ATK, 252 Def, 4 HP
IVs: All perfect except Sp. Atk
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Fairy
Item: Shell Bell
Moves
- Tera Blast, Curse, Body Slam, Protect

Strategy
Use Body Slam 3 times
Terastallize ASAP
Use Tera Blast once
When your stats are nullified, use protect
Use Curse until you have + 6 Atk. If your HP gets in the yellow, use a Heal Cheer.
(Optional: Can use an attack cheer)
Use Tera Blast until you get the win

BEST A.I. Allies
Gardevoir - Life Dew for healing
Drifblim - Burn to lower Sceptile's Attack

Stellar Malamar did it for me, Skill Swap, Superpower and Tera Blast to victory, love this Dondozo build, didn't even consider it being a water type!

So my brother came up with a double dialga strategy (i hyper trained his)
What both dialga have in common for the raid: Tera steel, 252 special attack & physical defense, 4 hp
Common moves: metal sound, dragon pulse, iron defense
Difference: mine had flash cannon, his had trick room.

Strat: turn 1: Metal Sound (Sceptile at -4 special dfense right away)
Turn 2: trick room for him, metal sound for me (Sceptile at -6special defense)
Turn 3: Dragon pulse
Turn 4+ Iron Defense/dragon pulse as needed
Turn 5: reset trick room.
Turn 6+: iron defense/dragon pulse/flash cannon as needed

All together we used 5 heal cheers & i used my last cheer for an attack buff (my dialga got the win despite the paralysis)
Side note: I'm a bit peeved Dialga didn't get Nasty Plot or Calm Mind (it would have been more helpful, especially when Sceptile nullified it's debuffs)

Dondozo is a genuine surprise, SunDan... 😳

I may give this a try after Hisuian Goodra. I have seen that its Shelter twist looks equally surprising.

I still wish there was an Ice alternative for this, though. Even if just to add an Ice Raider. 😅

I used good old Annihilape with Defiant, Shell Bell, and the moves Rage Fist, Taunt, Bulk Up, and Focus Energy.
And caught him in the usual Luxury Ball.

if your dondozos speed is -6 through curse and the sceptiles is +6 because of dragondance how powerfull would a gyroball become?

I think unaware does allow you to debuff your enemy and gain the benefits it only prevents your enemy to reap benefits from their own buffed attack and defense

I ran Clefable with Cosmic Power, Moonblast, Draining kiss and Calm mind and ate up

Unaware is such a good raid ability for 7 star raids as of late.

Just a correction: Unaware isn't a Hidden Ability for Dondozo, it's a normal one.

Just beat Sceptile by trolling the snot out of it with Contrary from Malamar's Skill Swap, just faint once and DON'T HAVE intimidators in the party.

Max Atk & SpD, the rest go to Def
Moves:Tera Blast, Superpower, Skill Swap, Stored Power for shits & giggles since you have all the stats to play with all those Contrary boosts.

Someone pointed out if you Skill Swap Contrary onto Sceptile with Malamar it's rendered useless, It will still go for Dragon Dance from time to time and keep on lowering it's speed and attack. AI is not smart enough to realize this and go for Leaf Storm. lol
