Thank you for watching....Nusantara, Malaysia, and Indonesia were my most requested topic. Hope you enjoy this video....let me know what you think....things you like didn't like, or what you think I can do to improve-Thanks Epimetheus :)
Corrections:
At eight mins 30 sec into the video I make the mistake of saying Malaysia when it was Indonesia. I had the correct thing written down and said the wrong country for some reason...so sorry :(
At one mins 44 secs I meant to say East coast instead of West
Additions:
Before the Aceh sultanate there was Samudera Pasai sultanate on the northern tip of Sumatra that converted to Islam in 1267 believed to be the first to do so in the archipelago

Malaysia and Indonesia always fight over football and foods.
But at the end of the day, we come from one root. Because we are 'Nusantara' and we are brothers!

East Timor was not annexed by Malaysia 🇲🇾.
It was annexed by neighbouring Indonesia 🇮🇩.

Both Singhasari and its successor state - the Majapahit Empire have some amazingly cool origin stories.

Penerangan yang bagus....harap tiada lagi claim di antara kedua buah negara...sebelum adanya indonesia dan malaysia kita adalah sama...NUSANTARA...penjajah british dan belanda yang telah memecah belahkan kita menjadi dua negara

Majapahit alone can make mini series. Not to mention the links with singhasari and kediri and tarumanegara. Also, the first known kingdom is Kutai (apprx 5th century) based on findings in Mahakam River of borneo island. Great channel! Subbed!

Really grateful for this! As a Singaporean and Southeast Asian, I find our own history is not well taught in schools and there is just a huge amount of info to digest. Mostly, it's modern history or social studies that were taught.

Great job!

I'm from Brunei
Bruneian Sultanate Empire stretched as far to Manila the capital of Philippines and they were animist by majority but converted to Islam. Then Spanish crusader came threatened to kill the Filipinos if they didn't convert to Catholic and many who didn't convert still lives in southern part of Philippines

The Philippines are mainly Austronesians too, some of us travel to Indonesia and Malaysia and we physically blend in, in terms of appearance. Their languages also sound like similar to some dialects in the Philippines.

This probably is the best accurate summary of the history of this region. By instinct probably the most unbiased account. And told in just enough minutes for the short-attention spanned creature of 21st century. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

The best history videos about Nusantara so far! Oh and by the way, Mataram Sultanate was separated into several Sultanates, 2 of them (Yogyakarta and Surakarta) still has their reigning monarch. Great job!
