Now build a slip-n-slide going from the back door to the pool.
No more walking in dirt.

This was a fun imaginative video and I love the frugal approach. Having recently done a pond my only concern would be that light of a guage of tarp should tear and leak easily. But for a season it could work great.

Commonly ask questions:

#1 Like I said in the video I was going to buy an easyset filter and pump to help clean the water, which i did.

#2 I drain the pool by using the filter and pump to pump out the water.

#3 I do use clorine and always have. I buy tablets specially made for pools in desert climates. :)

Hell yeah!!! I have been brain storming about a diy pool but I was overthinking. Thank you for making it simple. I'm trying it on a small scale first for the kids.

I'm building a pond liner pool right now! Its gonna be awesome, permanent, landscaped & a great place to cool off in West Texas, where we regularly exceed 100 degrees!

I have a problem relevant to your yard specifically with tracking dirt into the pool. I might suggest getting some cast concrete tiles from a hardware/garden store and make a walkway to and around the pool. It would help keep dirt out and also help keep the liner edges in place.

And that'll last about a week before it's green

Put landscape plants, hostas and or flowers around the pool to hide the lining, it’ll look like a paradise oasis. Thanks for sharing.

My son and his friend did this during quarantine. Their project! Well it’s back up and running this summer. The liner, tarp, may not last another winter but it’s good now!

Thank you, this is The 1st really inexpensive idea I've seen even with the pump & filter! Great Job dude👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Without that pump and filter and some chlorine, the pool is going to get cloudy and gross pretty quickly!

next time drill 10 holes, fill them with amonium nitrate wait for a thunderstorm or 4th of july and blast your hole. granted you still have to remove the rubble, but it is a lot easier.

Save yourself the digging. Go buy a inflatable pool. Includes filter and pump for around $100. Rofl.
