As a man with a science degree working in the IT field, I really loved _Lessons in Chemistry_ . Sadly, IT is still a predominantly male career. Though I've worked with some exceptional women, I'd love to see the pattern change. The book really made me wonder how much I have reinforced gender stereotypes or sexist behavior. It's a reminder to men to speak up, even among themselves, when someone uses gender-exclusive language, unduly disparages a female colleague, or makes crass remarks. I'm certainly guilty of having not spoken up before.

On a more positive note, I've learned a new way to make coffee!

Pencils are FORBIDDEN in labs .. you must always write in ink and only use a single strike through line to retract something. It's imperative that everything is recorded, for better or for worse. No erasing!!!

Rosalind franklin was not forgotten. There is a Rosalind Franklin University in the Chicago area and I worked there before it carried that name. And after.
