As an MK player and after being let down with MK1, T8 looks so promising. Your channel has been helping me learn the game and understand the mechanics. I played tekken 2 and 3 as a kid but never really learned the game properly. Keep up the content! Really looking forward to this game!

Arcade stick modded with Korean lever are hands down the best for me. I own a hitbox and pad as well. Korean sticks are just made for Tekken. The fast return to neutral makes moving easier especially if you like to play Mishimas and finally it's simply more fun.

Hitbox is a close second. It requires more precise inputs and you need some finger agility :) but it's an effective controller for sure.

As a high rank tekken player who plays on both pad and stick:

The pad is much simpler and requires less precision and effort to use which allows you to focus more on the game.

The Stick is much more ergonomical for certain techniques like the korean backdash. You will get better speed and consistency with this technique on stick than you would on pad.

Verdict: If you dont wanna bother with alot of practice, use pad, many pros use pad.

If you enjoy the mojo, wanna feel badass and perhaps save yourself from carpaltunnel syndrome, go stick!

The execution on the keyboard is flawless

I made the switch from pad to a custom leverless like 3 years ago now. The main reason being the lifespan of pads and not wanting to learn the process of replacing parts. I personally couldn’t be happier with my precise inputs and customization options.

Thank you for this video! As someone who was considering buying Tekken 8 + a fight stick without any prior fighting game experience, hearing that playing with keyboard will not be a disadvantage for my PC gaming ass gave me the last push to just buy the game.

Keyboard might have the advantage, but trying to do circular movements on a keyboard is genuinely one of the grossest feeling experiences I've ever had in gaming

I learned stick for the first time just a few years ago, in my 30's.... the first couple months were miserable, but once I got used to it, I can honestly say I wish I started learning it over 20 years ago, but hey, better late than never!

Learning a stick helped me with electrics and the wavedash

I've always used a pad for fighting games, but I've always wanted to get a fight stick since I've gone through many controllers over the years. Thanks for the info!

When i wanted to play and learn a stick, i went for the cheap Mayflash F300 which is only like 70 bucks or something and really worked well.

as a Gen Z who grew up with alot more home console experience than arcades, using a pad with the analog instead just feels more natural and comfortable to me lmao
but i also got a spare fight stick for whenever someone else or i need it, playing Tekken on an actual arcade cabinet just felt satisfying which is why i bought it

also low key, binding 2+3 over the heat burst button feels more practical since you can do your heat burst, heat smash, and 2 break throw in one button

I play in stick but controller feels so good in Tekken 8 unlike street fighter (to me)

I played Tekken on pad for a decade but switched to arcade stick after i got T7

Yes it took me like a month to get used to it but after 2 months i already played better than i ever was on pad and playing Mishima's felt alot easier to me

I picked up Arcade Stick in Street Fighter V and never looked back. Two main reasons i love it so much. 1) Its the most fun option for me. I love the way it sounds and feels 2) Its outstanding durability. It will outlive an army of controllers.

I just started playing fighting games. I tried to play on a PS4 controller and I couldn't even land the basic combos due to how mushy and inconsistent the D-Pad is. The moment I decided to give my keyboard a try, performing combos became WAY easier since I don't have to rely on my single thumb to pull off a combo in miliseconds.

There are hitbox varians with awsd keyboard mapping for movement. I think its currently the most OP controller you could find, basically keyboard but legal on console😂

If youre a mishima, get a leverless. I just got one and now i can power a whole city with my electrics.
